COMMUNAL SPACES

MALOCA & FIREPLACE

Our ceremonial maloca is a 30-foot yurt that sits at the crown of the property, creating a safe nest for sacred gatherings. The space is equipped with cushions and mattresses for up to 25 people in a circle, and has a bathroom area just outside with compost toilets, sinks and a shower.

COMMUNITY LOUNGE/SPA AREA

This large community kitchen, dining area and cafe shares space with the tree nursery and plant beds for an immersive farm-to-table experience. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge area, hammocks and two large dining tables provide plenty of space for enjoying meals, workshops and creative gatherings.

SHALA

The shala is the heart and soul of the land, a 12m x 12m space with a wooden floor and beautiful temple-inspired roof overlooking a forest and creek. Part of the space is used for dining and the rest is used as the shala for gathering, sessions and movement.

TORTUGA TEMPLO

This beautiful temple set into the hillside is a multi-purpose space with a wooden floor and expansive glass windows that provide sweeping ocean, mountain & forest views. Equipped with a sound system, pillows and yoga mats, the Tortuga Templo is perfect for yoga, dance and gathering.

The abundant Rio Tortuguita (Little Turtle River) is what provides Yacumama with its crystalline waters and incredible fertility. The river is accessible from the back of the land, and provides little waterfalls, swimming pools and a peaceful refuge to connect deeply with mama agua.

RIVER & CREEK

GRANDMOTHER TREE

The Grandmother Tree is the guardian and spirit guide of the property. She is a huge Ceiba that has been overlooking the Pacific coast for hundreds of years, way before our time. The ceiba tree is considered a bridge between the living world and the spirit world, and is the perfect place to connect with your prayers and make offerings and blessings.
