SPACES

We can sleep up to 29 people at Yacumama in a variety of accommodations. We have additional spaces in the Eco Village side of the land as well as some spaces for staff & volunteers that may be available increasing capacity to 35 people. Our neighbors within walking distance can sleep 25 for larger groups needing offsite accommodation.

We create and host experiences that allow us to restore our innate wholeness and remember the truth of who we are.

Our prayer is that everyone who comes to Yacumama will feel a deeper connection to nature, ourselves, each other and be inspired to step into greater service to all life.

We’ve been facilitating immersions around the world for many years and have done our best to create a space to support you in creating a powerful immersion.

The Land

Yacumama is made up of 100 acres of beautiful land located 1000 feet above sea level on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Almost half of the property is lush forest full of incredible biodiversity, and the other half is home to our retreat center and ecovillage. The land is blessed with vast ocean vistas and abundant spring water that feeds a creek on the west, flowing parallel to a river with cascades & pools on the east

River

The abundant Rio Tortuguita (Little Turtle River) is what provides Yacumama with its crystalline waters and incredible fertility. The river is accessible from the back of the land, and provides little waterfalls, swimming pools and a peaceful refuge to connect deeply with mama agua.

Creek

In addition to the large Rio Tortuguita, there is also a smaller and easily accessible creek that passes by the large Grandmother Ceiba towards the front of the land. This is a perfect spot for a meditation, a clay spa, or simply enjoying the sounds of all the wildlife that commune around the water.

Grandmother Tree

The Grandmother Tree is the guardian and spirit guide of the property. She is a huge Ceiba that has been overlooking the Pacific coast for hundreds of years, way before our time. The ceiba tree is considered a bridge between the living world and the spirit world, and is the perfect place to connect with your prayers and make offerings and blessings.

Sacred Fireplace

The sacred fireplace is located at the crown of the land, with sweeping views across the forest and ocean, sweet winds and breathtaking sunsets. This sacred space has been used in many gatherings with teachers from different traditions and lineages that commune around a sacred fire, and is an energetic portal for connecting with land and spirit.

Shala

The shala is the heart and soul of the land, a 12m x 12m space with a wooden floor and beautiful temple-inspired roof overlooking a forest and creek. Part of the space is used for dining and the rest is used as the shala for gathering, sessions and movement.

Ceremonial Maloca

Our ceremonial maloca is a 30-foot yurt that sits at the crown of the property, creating a safe nest for sacred gatherings. The space is equipped with cushions and mattresses for up to 25 people in a circle, and has a bathroom area just outside with compost toilets, sinks and a shower.

At Yacumama these are the perfect place to meditate, have deep conversation, make art, pray or rest. You will find them dotted all across the land in beautiful locations.
