Creating Yacumama is a response to a spirit mission given to many of us to create ecovillages, sanctuaries, food forests, temples, places we can come together in connection and remember.
Many of us have received this mission, some of us for decades. We all have a part to play, and now is the time to unite in creating this collective living prayer.
A living prayer is alive - growing and evolving. We are exploring new and ancient ways of living in community rooted in reciprocity, connection & regeneration.
Our deepest prayer for Yacumama is that we create a living field of unity where the illusion of separation dissolves creating a deeper connection with ourselves, nature and each other.
Our mission is to create a temple of self realization, a place to remember who we truly are and together create a powerful ripple by shifting the collective frequency of humanity from fear to love.

Yacumama means "Mother of the Waters" in Quechua. This pristine place offers a deep immersion into nature - just being here connected to the pure energy of the land and waters is healing in itself.
About 1000 feet above sea level on the Pacific coast, Yacumama is surrounded by lush verdant mountains, the land is blessed with vast ocean vistas and abundant spring water that feeds a creek on the west, flowing parallel to a river with cascades & pools on the east.
About half of the nearly 100 acres is forest, home to abundant wildlife with mature trees and incredible biodiversity. We have ocean breezes throughout the day and cool air from the lush green mountains that descends in the evenings.
LOCATION
Yacumama is in Ojochal, a small town near the Pacific Ocean known for its international fine dining, which is part of the Ballena (whale) Coast. It is 15-20 minutes south of Uvita, where the Envision Festival has been drawing international creatives for the past ten + years.
Yacumama is a 3-4 hour drive southwest from the international airport, SJO. About 30 minutes south is Palma Sur airport.
From San Jose you can take a small plane or even hire a small private plane from anywhere in Costa Rica to Quepos airport which is about an hour north of Yacumama.

Dustin is happiest when he working hard, getting his hands dirty and connected to the elements. He is a medicine man deeply devoted to the sacred; a musician, counselor, facilitator of men’s retreats and boy’s rites of passage programs. Chiara is a medicine mama, anthropologist & musician passionate about indigenous culture and expanding consciousness. She has a deep connection to the land as has been living in Costa Rica for 18 years where she birthed her two daughters. After 15 years in the world of business and founding a successful multi-national tech company, Gerard is now devoting his life to regenerative agriculture, reforestation, sacred medicines and philanthropy. ECO VILLAGE
The first phase of our ecovillage has been creating spaces for community to gather and experience transformational immersions. The retreat space is opening February 2023.
The second phase will be creating the residential ecovillage, estimated to be complete in 2025.
Using the principles of permaculture design, eco for us means leaving as light of an imprint as we can on the precious ecosystem we have come to be a part of with every step of how we live our lives and everything we design and build.

One of the deepest longings that humans have is to belong to something that is greater than themselves. It is important for us that everyone who comes here feels that they are a part of the tribe.
We feel one the most valuable thing in these times is our relationships. Our community gatherings and immersions are centered around connection for we are so much more powerful together.

Our monthly call is done via zoom. You will receive a recording if you are not able to make it.
Each month the content is released in a google drive and will be there for the whole month for you to download and keep forever.
